| I have a personal confession. I don't like appearing weak. I don't like like how it makes me feel. More importantly , I imagine that people will think less of me if they think I am weak. So I pretend , and act stronger than I am at times. I live by the mottos never let them see you sweat..
This morning in Psalm 109:21 -31 But You, O God The Lord. Deal with me for Your names sake; because your mercy is good, deliver me, For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. I am gone like a shadow when it lengthens ; I am shaken off like a locust.my knees are weak through fasting., and my flesh is feeble from the lack of fatness. I also have become a reproach to them. When they look at me, they shake their heads.
HELP ME, O GOD! Oh saving me according to Your mercy, that they may know that this is your hand THAT YOU, O Lord have done it! let them curse, but You bless; when they arise, let them be ashamed , but let your servant rejoice 30 I will greatly praise The Lord with my mouth; Yes I will praise him among the multitude . For He shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those who condemn him..
After is authentic personal proclamation of weakness, David cried out to God for help, and his closing refrain of praise suggests an expectant positive response from God.
Is it possible that your willingness to confess your own weakness is the key to experiencing Gods redemptive provision? Are there places where you are pretending to be stronger than you really are, a posture that creates a barrier to a gods deliverance? Could you give yourself permission to name your weakness in Gods presence and see if that opens the door to what you most need from Him?
When we are weak, then we are strong.
For it is with God all things are possible
Father, I am weak, will You guide me today to do all things to bring glory and honor to You AMEN
