Location: NC | but doesn't the bank have to keep up with the check number used on the electronically deposited check? shouldn't they catch if the same check number was deposited later in paper?
WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO MAKE THINGS SO DIFFICULT!!! ugh So many crappy people in the world... :-( |

Location: Oklahoma | Oh WOW!!! That really sucks! We accept credit cards and we will also electronically deposit checks, but we have a system to shred the checks to not keep them in our files. We have to stay with the credit card standards too. Clearly the banks have not put out any standard for the electronic deposit of checks yet. I never thought of the actual check being deposited at a later date. Maybe people have made a mistake and clearly do not have a good bookkeeping system.
Thanks for the heads up! I never thought of people not having a system for this since we always have had one. |

Location: North Dakota | scary to think people are doing this. Gate City has mobile deposit, however you write "For Mobile Deposit Only" on the back of the check in order for them to accept it. This way, if it were brought into the bank for a second deposit, it would be rejected. Hopefully more banks will follow suit |

Location: Oklahoma | Be sure you check and make sure that the check actually gets deposited.
I deposited my paycheck via my phone on Thursday evening and it went thru just fine... did the same for my husband's check the next morning and it said "accepted" and got a confirmation e-mail that it was processing, but it never applied to our account balance... had to call them (very irate, might I add) and "Oh, we don't accept mobile deposits over X amount."... but they never bothered to let us know. |
