So I have started several colts in the past and honestly, I am very proud of how they turned out. Broke, quiet, sound & sane. Well, some stuff went south with my good mare and I have lost all of my confidence in pretty much everything horse accept feeding and doctoring. I bought a young filly for a huge bargain that is not broke and I would love to break her my way and have another like that but it makes my heart rate in anxiety just to go feed Her for fear I will screw her up. I don't know what my deal is.

I'm still recovering from this same issue. I went through a rough patch. Took a few hard diggers off of a super nice filly I owned. She was going to be amazing. I had about 120 days on her and she was going strong. I was one proud momma and trainer. showing her off every chance I had. She sat for a a week, while I was swapped at my other job. I turned her out and then decided to hop on her bareback and ride her to her stall. BIG mistake. After that rodeo, her and I just lost it. Every day was worse and worse until finally I cut my loses and sold her. Now she is a big time reiner. Now I am in a rut! I also lost two of my best barrel horses soon after that and was stuck with a bunch of prospects that I had previously sidelined to compete on my good horses. Now I feel lost and have felt that way for a while. I decided to hop out of the rut, when I caught myself listing my mare for sale. I have owned her since she was two and was so down in out on the fact that she is super talented and I just dont have the "time" and confidence to make her who she really is. Luckily I met up with my old trainer from when I was in HS, she convinced me to go to a few lessons with her. I am slowly gaining my confidence back one lesson at a time. I WILL get there and you will too. You just have to really get back up and going and make sure you push your self out side your comfort zone EVERY day

Start with a training clinic.

As much as I don't like pat Parrelli, his clinics help a horse and trainer bond, this may be what you need to do.

I agree.. we had a stud here that we do it with for 15 or so minutes now before we work him.. it helps Him relax and trust and bond and you both can get things together.. thats exactly what you should do.. Im not a huge fan either but this has helped him alot.. and the interns are using it as well on youngsters to gain confidence and trust.

Clinic is a great idea regardless of whether or not you've had a rough patch because we never stop learning. If you can find someone that does ranch type clinics in your area that might be a good option because their approach is practical and they usually cover a lot of practical showmanship without all the flash. Something I've learned over and over breaking colts and working through issues over the years is that when I run into a problem it's usually because I didn't spend enough time on a previous step- that's easy to do with ones that are working well. Don't beat yourself up - use everything as a learning experience to move forward. Look at it this was, you learned you needed to learn more! Most people don't even get that far!!

Get out of your working in the arena rut and go do some 4-6 hour trail rides at some state park or with some riding club and if possible go move some pasture cows around .. .... lots of different terrain, horses, meet new people and your mind is not polluted with anxiety and your butt will get re-educated to tell your brain where your horse is and what it is doing ..

Wet saddle blankets are good for horses and riders ....

This exactly.  Ride, ride, ride.  The more time you spend in the saddle the more confident you will become.  I went through the same thing and the only thing that helped me was to get out and just ride as much as I could, on any (safe) horse I could get on.  After a few weeks I felt back to my normal self.

Im in the same boat. Back before my mishap I would ride anything, anywhere, anytime. Been bucked off plenty before, but I got pitched from a horse that I had high hopes for and I havent been right since. Broke my tailbone i hit the ground so hard. I even had a serious breakdown on a head horse a few months ago because I was honestly scared to death and he wasnt even doing anything wrong. I have bought an older gelding now, that is fast and kinda nutty and he is helping me gain my confidence back. Dealing with his issues is helping me gain my confidence and energy back in the saddle. I have no idea what happened and I know its going to take me years to get back to where I was mentally.
