Veteran Posts: 164 Location: Williamsville, MO	I have a mare that is very difficult when she is in heat. We had tried several things including the old school put marbles in her. Regumate is too expensive for me to give all the time. We started her on Medrox last year and it has made a world of difference. Its a monthly injection and i paid $160 for a vial that would last a year. Much more affordable than other options.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1062 Location: Probably On the Road to the Next Barrel Race!	the hormone hot, YES YES YES!!!!! Cheap n easy, won't affect her having babies later. Must get from a vet, but no big deal. This was a mare on some serious crack until the shot, nearly unrideable, and wouldn't run barrels worth a flip when she was in heat. She's happy, now, and so am I!!

Veteran Posts: 170 Location: Texas	We used to use regumate, it was very costly. We ended up getting a rx from the vet and going to a pharmacy that did a lot of equine prescriptions. We would get the generic. It worked great and was about 1/2 the cost.
