Any tips on how to get your dogs to eat with this heat?
I feed one cup in the morning and one at night.
My new one usually is a pig and eats every bite before I finish pouring the food it seems.
Yesterday I came home to a full food bowl. Water bowl had moved down but wasn't empty. So at least he's drinking.

Any tips/tricks to get one to eat? He seems very sad and less playful as well. I'd like to try a few things before getting bloodwork done on him at the Vet...

Not sure if this will help but when we brought our new pup home we were told a spoon of vanilla yogurt a day to help her transition and keep her blood sugar up.

I've been having to mix stuff in for our mastiff for a long time. Hers isn't heat induced though, she's just never enjoyed eating it seems. She's a hard keeper. I either crack an egg and mix that in. Or boil some chicken, shred it, mix it in with some of the juices. Right now she's getting pot roast juices with carrots and celery. She's spoiled.

Try putting some broth on his food OR see if he'll eat some canned pumpkin puree. If his stomach is upset the pumpkin will help.

Definitely make sure he keeps drinking. Look at his gums and press your finger in to see if the color comes back. That'll give you an idea of hydration.

I bought mine a kiddie pool to cool off in. It seemed to make her happier!

Never heard of using yogurt.
We've had him for a little over a month now. He was getting Probios dog probiotics to help with the transition.  We have already transitioned him from his old food to his new food. He's on Taste of the Wild Salmon.

I don't think he's still homesick for his old owner....

I bet her tummy is happy tho! Those are great suggestions.

Mastiffs are know for there "room clearing farts". The roast juices are giving it a whole new meaning. Glad she's an outside doggy.
