For those of you who organized Fundraisers for your different associations (NBHA, etc.) what are some things you do to raise money for year-end awards?

Looking for fresh ideas. Already aware of silent auctions/Facebook auctions, etc. One thing that crossed my mind was a NFR Fantasy League fundraiser, where a % of each entry is kept by the association. Probably not enough time to get that sorted out before the NFR starts, but maybe for next year.

We have a lot of 2 day NBHA shows, but on Friday night we'll have a jackpot race and a % of those funds go back to the hosting district for year end awards.

We have a silent auctions at most shows; horse products, homemade items, baked goods are a big hit too!

And we've done 50/50 raffles. We also do tee shirt sales.

We just have jackpot races. We do get sponsors throughout the year to help with awards.

We did a reverse raffle one year and raised over $3000. We sold up to two hundred $50 tickets (we actually only sold about 140). You just draw tickets and the last ticket wins half the pot which was around $3500. But once you get to the last 5 tickets drawn they can choose to split the pot or keep drawing, on down to the last ticket. We added in $50 winners for the 1st, 50th, and 100th ticket drawn and random gift cards and lottery tickets along the way, so ticket winners had around a 1 in 8 shot of winning something. We had the drawing after one of our district shows along with BBQ plates. It was easy and only required our members to sell like 2 tickets a piece.

Chandler's father won one of these when we first married. It was down to the last two, and Chris wasn't there. . . . The other person said no to splitting the pot, and wouldn't you know Chris got it? That was a wonderful phone call, unexpected blessing.

Something new around here is football squares:)both college and Superbowl:)

Ours does a square sheet for the barrel race.
You have a 10 x 10 board, let everyone pick their square just like a football board.
Draw for numbers 0-9 both sides, and the person with the last two numbers of the winning 1-D time wins.
So a 15.357 wins, whoever has 5 & 7 wins.
They pay it back 50/50, and usually have a $1 and $5 board, sometimes a $10 if it's a big show.
