This is myself and my mares second run together and I'm still learning myself. She's 16 almost 17. Any tips on cleaning things up, getting more out of her and faster runs I know she has it in her. I welcome all advice

As the other poster said, you need to ride deeper in your turns. You are asking and/or allowing her to turn too soon. That's why your hitting the barrels and/or having to save them. This is utimately creating the problem of you leaving the turn by "veering out". When you cut off your pocket going into the barrel, that's about the only thing you can do to save the backside. If you give your horse enough room going into the turn, you should be able to FINISH the turn fully, and then make a straight line to the next barrel. Seems you've got the horse to do it and she seems to listen to you. There's some small but impactful things to change with your riding that will help. Also, I've taken a screen shot here to show you. See how you are so far away from the barrel, yet you are already setting her up to turn? TOO SOON. She seems pretty turny so I would wait until your knee is AT the barrel before you ask. Also, you've got your hands way up in the sky, and your inside hand crossing the plane of her neck to the outside. Keep your hands low and quiet. Drive her forward with your seat and legs. And then when you are actually ready to turn, just quietly use your inside hand to guide her around. When you put your hands and your horse into this position, she is going to have all the weight on her inside shoulder and she won't be free to make a good move around the turn. Is there a reason why you are riding her two-handed? I don't know that she needs it.
