I am a fan of the wool Tod Sloane pads. SO needs a new pad for his calf horse that has a tendency to get sore- she is a wuss on top of it all. Anyway- what pads do you use to rope
(can take the hit
) and not fall apart or compress so quickly?

I love Slone pads. I have one that I've been using for 6 years, still looks great! It's a one inch black felt with ostrich wear leathers. I'm planning on getting another one soon

I love wade pads, I like the 3000 series. I also have zone pad and I think it would hold up to jerk pretty good.

My daughter did ribbon roping in HS rodeo which is with a tie down horse and you jump off to grab the ribbon off calf ear.. We used a 7/8 5 Star for her. My brother does roping and lots of ranch work. He has a 1 1/8" 5 Star..

My dad uses a CSI on his ranch horse that would get sore when roping. It has really helped him.

We've used Slone's for YEARS
(20+
) but I really like 5 Stars. I LOVE the top line--it's contoured and really makes a difference on the pressure applied to the withers. And they are a lot softer.
For tie-down horses we use a doubled Navajo underneath the pads as well. My 7/8" is perfect for using alone or wih a Navajo.
