| Trying to plan a trip to the NFR this year. Where is the best place to stay? I have been looking on line and would like to book earlier. Any suggestions?

Location: Central Montana | There really is no best place to stay, it depends on what you can afford and personal preferences. Have you ever been to Las Vegas before?
I usually go a few times a year but have never been there for the NFR. We have stayed at a lot of the stip hotels but now prefer to stay off the strip. The Orleans and The South Point are our two favorites. I would really love to try The M Resort one day too. It is even further south of the strip than the South Point is though, I would say maybe another four miles or so. |

| I have never been to Vegas. We thought about South Point, but was wanting to stay on the strip, close to everything. Thanks for the information. Just wanting personal opinions, since I have never been. |

Location: Central Montana | The trade shows are set up in different areas. The biggest one is at the convention center (north end of strip) and there is another at Mandalay Bay (southern part of the strip) and I think a smaller one or more in other places. UNLV/Thomas and Mack center is off the strip.
The convention center sits near the north end of the strip and off the strip a ways. The closest hotels for Vegas resorts are going to be the Venetian/Palazzo and Wynn. The Las Vegas Hotel (formerly the Las Vegas Hilton) is also right there and has a pedestrian bridge connected it to the convention center. There are also some brand name hotels in that area, specifically a Marriott and I can't remember what else off the top of my head.

Location: North Central Kansas | The MGM is where its at if you're into partying. They have live music every night and a lot of the contestants show up. Actually i saw vontestants running around the mgm everywhere! Big buffet to eat at. Rain forest cafe was fun. NRS trade show is also at the MGM. They show the nfr live at the theator but you have to get there early. Across the street is hooters where they have 9.99 prime rib and it was good! Also at Hooters they show the performance live on a big screen. Rooms where really nice at the MGM. We had a HUGE suite with great views. Cesar de La Cruz was our neighbor. Got to meet his wife and kids! |

 I Prefer to Live in Fantasy Land

Location: In the Hills of Texas | I hate the strip so The South Point fits our needs to a T. Feel at home there. Everyone has their own likes and most like to stay on the strip. It averages $100.00 a night but is worth it. Last year we stayed one night at the Flamingo and I felt like we were dumpster diving. It was creepy. |

Location: Randolph, Utah | I really like the Excalibur. It's been clean and reasonably priced every time I've stayed there. It is close to other casino so there is a good selection for food. We stayed at the riviera one year, it is within walking distance to the convention center, it's older, clean, but not a lot of food options. We stayed at bally's one year, I wasn't impressed rooms were clean but the beds were uncomfortable and not a lot of food options.
DO NOT STAY AT CIRCUS CIRCUS!! It is a dump! I won't stay past the riviera on that end of the strip.

Location: NE Oklahoma | The Mirage has the NFR performances on the big screen and they have bands each night after the performances. My parents like to stay at Harrah's. It's in the middle of the strip and right on the monorail that you can take to the Convention Center. Has good food options and Toby Keith's and the Jack Daniels Saloon are fun at night. I stayed at Bally's last year and it was nice to be in the center of the strip and right on the monorail. The rooms have been redone recently so I thought ours was really nice. Think we were in the North Tower. |

Location: Kentucky | I really like the MGM. Yes, Circus Circus is a dump. I wouldn't stay anywhere near that part of the strip because I felt like we missed out on the Vegas nightlife. |
