Looking at getting a 5 Star pad, but dont know what thickness? I have a saddle that is a tiny bit tight on her withers but until I can afford a new one it will have to do, It isnt hurting her in any way, I would just like it a little wider. Any idea on what thickness to get in the midst of my saddle fit?

If your saddle is tight you need the thinnest pad possible.  Think of it as if you have too small of shoes then you don't want to wear thick socks.  If your talking the saddle is maybe a little too wide and its dropping down on her withers then that's another story.  Any pictures to show how it fits with out a pad on?  I love my 5 Stars.

I have a 7/8" and a 1/2" and I love them both. Just got the 1/2" last week. For your situation I would go with a 1/2" and save your pennies for a new saddle, I just went through that saga and wow what a difference!

I finnaly have one of each. For u I would get a half inch. They dont compress and you can always layer it with a navajo blanket

Totally depends on how long and hard your riding. If you are just riding for an hour, you can use a thinner pad. If you're trail riding, roping or anything similar, you need a 1 inch pad. Otherwise you can get by with a thin one.

What is your reasoning? If her saddle already fits snug and you stick a thick pad under there its going to make the horse sore and the saddle pop up in the back.
