Location: Over by those oil wells, TX | I read a comment about horses roasting in the heat when pulling a trailer with a motorhome because the motorhome blocks the airflow they would normally get if pulling with a truck. That really has me worried because I never knew to consider that when I bought my motorhome. I could get fans installed in my older 2 horse slant but in this Texas heat the last thing I want is for my horse to be completely miserable. Can anyone give me insight to that and if that does occur? :-( |

| There is a white coating you can put on tye roof that will cool the trailer, put an inverter in trailer and put a regular fan in it. |

I have seen those small fans that I thought if I mounted one each stall high on the butt side it would help but I don't know if they tie into the clearance light wires up there or what... can you post a link to an inverter? I'm not sure I have room for much in that 2 horse. Also thank you for explaining about the white coating...is that the same white coating they put on motorhome roofs or something else?

South Georgia with its humidity sure seems like a good place to know and that eases my concrns alot. I think the fans might still be nice to make sure our 100 degree days don't create problems. I love my horse and funny how that one comment worried me... Just want to be sure. Thank you for posting. |

Location: southeast Texas | Insulating the roof helps a lot and watered down shavings helps as a barrier from the road heat. Just a thought, if you have a camera for backing up, you could install a flag or little streamers, on top of trailer and watch the air flow. |

Location: NE Texas | Don't waste your money on those fans, hopin4$. We had them in a trailer when we lived in MO and they didn't make an ounce of difference in how cool our horses were. I think you'll be fine without them. |

Location: Over by those oil wells, TX | Thanks everyone! I am going to save on the fans for now. and test him when all is ready with short trips of 1 - 3 hours and make sure he's ok. I just had the frame of the MH beefed up, put on new Michelins and next is airbags and back up cameras...you can't see the trailer at ALL back there and I'm wondering how wide the mirror extensions will have to be...LONG!! |
