Sorry for the OT post, just wondering if anyone has ever used Provera and Clomid as a fertility treatment?
We have been actively trying for a year now and it just seems to be disappointment after disappointment.

Now, before anyone flames me and tells me to go to the doctor, we have been there. I wouldn't have found out about Clomid and Provera if we hadn't been there already.

Has anyone had luck with the two as a fertility treatment? How long until you found yourself pregnant? Any nasty side effects? Sorry for all of the questions it has been a very emotionally draining process..

Has your husband been checked out?  If not, go get that done.  Spend the money and go to a fertility specialist.

Clomid is not pleasant....but, none of it is.

I have a Clomid baby. It only took one month for me, so I can't tell you long term effects. Fortunately, I only have one child and didn't have multiple babies.

A friend of mine was on clomid, had a miscarriage in first trimester, she decided to never go back on it as it gave her suicidal tendencies.

A month later she became pregnant and was not trying, she now has three no fertility drugs used, but with the first miscarriage.

To the op, if you have suffered from mental health problems please speak to your doc as the medication could exacerbate depression, suicidal tendencies.

I took Clomid for my third baby. I didn't notice any effects, not even a positive pregnancy test lol! I may as well have taken sugar pills. After I ran out of the rx, I got pregnant a few months later.

We have been trying for 14 months. I've had my blood taken countless times, ultra sounded, used OPK kits, and my husband has been tested. I'm currently on Femara, it has a less chance of getting twins but the same concept as Clomid. This is my third month on it and it makes me a little nauseous but that's about it. No luck yet. My doc said to give it 6 months and of no dice, to see her for more tests but after all the previous tests and heartache, I'm about done with it. It's exhausting. Good luck to you!!

Have you had an HSG xray? It checks to see if you have blockages anywhere. It can also help clear them out too.

This!

And find a fertility specialist/endocrinologist.  Fertility drugs are nothing to mess around with for your longterm health.  There are so many variables and possible issues that a normal OB/GYN doesn't have the experience to catch or to treat.  My twins were conceived via IVF...I also have two friends going through the same issues right now.

Thanks for all of the replies!

Hubby has been checked out, I haven't had an HSG x ray.

I do have past issues with my thyroid (graves disease- has been treated and ALL TSH levels are normal, not on medication anymore), when the endo discharged me from his clinic he said I shouldn't have any trouble conceiving, maybe I should go back for a second look?

By the sounds of it and the more research I do on clomid, maybe I should hold off and see if we do conceive naturally.
