| For those who have got a ramp installed on their trailer, what was the process that yall went through/what was the approximate cost? I have a lakota and I want to get a half ramp put on it, and the closest trailer service shop to me said we would have to get it custom made by Lakota and it is a bit over the price we were looking to pay for it.
I'm trying to find the cheapest way to do this.... is it possible to get a different brand ramp put on there? Looking for all possible options!! |

Location: Buffalo, TX | A 1/2 ramp from Platinum will cost you a little over $1000...they will cut out 1/2 of the rubber bumper and weld the spring loaded ramp in it's place....most trailer manufacturers will add ramps to any brand of trailer...This price should be normal for nearly every shop out there....to get a quality ramp cheaper than that is probably not going to happen... |

Location: Iowa | My poorly designed ramp broke off my trailer. I had the ramp and it still cost me over $1000 to have it put back on right. |

| Good luck, I just took my ramp off because horse kept falling to knees if trailer wasn't on absolute level ground. Now just need to get rid of it. |

Location: Armuchee, GA, NW section of Ga | Just went thru this myself. I couldn't afford the ramp from Keifer so my local RV guy said he could do it cheaper. BE CAREFUL of this. I had it made, installed and within 6 months one of my bigger boys put his hoof thru the ramp. It is just luck he didn't pull his foot off. I now have it being repaired by a good welder with steel and new springs.

| When I bought my trailer it didn't have a ramp, so I ordered one from the trailer manufacturer and had someone that specialized in welding aluminum install it. Why do you want a half ramp? That seems pretty narrow for a horse to back out on, much more likely to step the side of it? |

| I have one that was put on after, and I love it, the ramp is on rollers, underneath the door, you pull it out and push it in when you want it.
I love it for the point I don't have to use it each and every time.
Mine cost around 500, custom made and installed |
