Gooseneck to Fifth wheel adaptor
Has anyone used the adaptor to go from gooseneck to a fifth wheel on their horse trailer?? How is it?? Besides easier to hook up.

Kind of the opposite situation... but I bought a truck that already had a fifth wheel hitch in it. We purchased a gooseneck plate that pinned into and ontop of the fifth wheel plate in the bed of the truck. Works great, no problems.

We have a fifth wheel
Hitch in my truck and have used a plate before but he is thinking of switching the new trailer to a fifth wheel just so it's easier to hook up. Lol I had never heard of it on a horse trailer. My parents have a fifth wheel
With a gooseneck hitch.

I have the b and w hidden ball hitch in my truck when I went to the fifth wheel. The fifth wheel adapter just drops into the ball hitch.
Easy to take out if need be, easy to put back in
Mine is rated for 25k lbs I have never had a problem pulling with it
And I will never go back to a ball hitch
For the piece that goes into the nose on the horse trailer, the 5 the wheel nose is a little more difficult to find
My living quarters trailer I had to custom order it from the trailer company
I just bought a used trailer and I had to go back to the company who made the trailer to get one to fit
As I have now learned not all goosenecks are the same diameter.
The used trailer was 3mm smaller just enough my extra neck wouldn't fit

A buddy of mine is using an adapter he bought from Hitchweb. He said it makes hooking it up easier and prevents having to remove the fifth wheel hitch to use his gooseneck trailer. Hitchweb's website if you wanted to have a look is:

And I personally prefer a GN Ball Hitch to a fifth wheel hitch.

I have pulled with both. On a smaller trailer I don't think it makes much difference. But on bigger heavier trailer I prefer a fifth wheel.
