I recently bought a coats with a drop rigging and my pads seem too shallow. Has anyone had issues with pinching when the d is hanging a little off the pad? I haven't tried my CSI for this saddle because it is a thick one and I need the thin and probably rounded one. My 5-Star is way too short and a Saddle right is a tad better and a Slone is the only thing close to leaving the D on the pad but it is my roping one and thicker than I need.

You can get a 5 Star Trail pad that works good for droped riggings, you can custom the width and the lenght...

thanks Roxie!  Yes, that is what they call the Trail Pad, but we can also do a wider pad.  Their widest "standard" one is 32" wide, an we can custom cut any width.

Biofits and Wyatt pads are big enough. I have 2 dropped Coats. You'll never ride anything else! I love how loose I can leave my cinch.

I like cinches looser if my horse has withers but it never feels like it's tight enough? Both my Larry Allens have lower Ds but they still feel tight. Definitely like the drop rigging though because my older coats skirts are shorter than most saddles and I feel like this new one wouldn't roll, not that the old one does.

Toklat has some nice pads with drop downs. I have not tried one, but I am seriously considering it.

Saddleright makes a dropped rig length pad. Let me know if I can help you with more info.
