We had a major hail storm a couple of days ago. All of our vehicles have extensive damage. I'm not sure how, but the trailer fared better, damage appears to be to the roof only. It's a 2008 2h elite, no lq.
Has anyone experienced this before? What can I expect? The body shop is coming out today to give an estimate on everything, but how do I know if he's qualified to repair my trailer? What should I expect for cost? How does insurance handle trailers? TIA

Also, is someone has a subscription, would you mind telling me the BB of my trailer? I'm not able to find any for sale.

I assume the trailer is aluminum? Depending on the damage the insurance might total it, I found my perfect trailer last year and almost bought it but it had a salvage title from hail damage and I was too afraid to buy the trailer and bring it from SO Cal to the mountains of Colorado even though 5 ppl told me it was cosmetic only damage. They told me it was 8-10k to fix the roof of it because the roof would have to be replaced entirely due to it being 1 piece. You can also get a self leveling sealant at home depot for around 2k for a 30-35 ft long trailer. That's what I also considered. That should last 10 years I think.

I had a tree limb go through my 1996 Sundowner 3 horse with a small dressing room when it was new. The insurance company gave me $4,000. to get it fixed and they said I was on my own finding someone. They priced a whole new roof for it and said if the labor wasn't enough that I would just need the shop to call in for a supplement. Ended up putting in a vent where the limb went through. No one wanted to touch it so I would have had to take it to Sundowner to get it re-roofed.

Have a trailer dealership do the estimate or call Elite to see how much to realign a roof. Many times they will line and insulate the roof

Same thing happened to mine. Need to have trailer manufacturer give estimate to fix. Outlaw had to give estimate also, as they would have to take interior out then 4Star repair the trailer. Insurance paid for all

We had extensive hail/water damage to our 99 Sundowner 3 or so years ago. We got an estimate from a SD dealer and the insurance paid in full.

Thanks for all of the advice. They are sending out an adjuster but I went ahead and called Elite for an estimate so I'll at least have an idea if they're being fair in their assessment.
