Opinions....Pros/Cons... Im not a purina user. I feed tribute Kalm n EZ so im not really familar with the Purina line. But, I want something more for my main mounts gut. He's SUPER picky. Refuses to eat the DAC cool gut that the rest of my barn is on. He is on 1/2 cup a day of Aloe Vera juice but i want something more since he gets hauled the most. He doesnt show signs of ulcers but i know he has them. I am open to other products as well!

I haven't tried the Outlast, but I tried about everything for years until I started using Gastro-Plex. My horse gets ulcers all the way up into his larynx, in a short period of time. A couple years ago I scoped him and he was clean after the omeprazole, then 3 days later we scoped again and he was full of them and he didn't leave home. He's a bad case. I used to treat the full 28 days 3-4 times a year and since starting the Gastro-Plex I haven't had to do a treatment for a year now. He had awful gate issues. He climbed onto the hood of a truck by the gate, knocked horses down, moved a picnic table, and even took me right out of the building a couple times. People always knew I was up to run, you could hear the commotion of panels rattling, etc. We did that for years, I was going to retire him this spring if he didn't change. So far since starting I've gotten in the gate every time with no more than 10 seconds of fuss, sometimes no fuss at all. So I'll swear by the stuff, its changed my life & made running fun again. If you're interested in trying it message me and I can give you info about offers we have right now, I'm an MVP Ambassador now.

I've been feeding it to all 3 of ours bc we've had to dry lot them this summer and I'm paranoid about it causing ulcers. My husband's mare is a picky eater and she'll eat it out of my hand. It's a pellet so I think that helps.

You have to order the Gastro-Plex through the company, it's not typically sold in stores. If you're ever interested in ordering (MVP ships free!) feel free to PM me, I can get you info & talk about any offers going on right now for new customers

Ive been using it for approximately 120 days. The horses I used it on where all in training. All were from 3-4 year olds being ridden at least 6 days a week. Three are mares and one is a gelding. One mare was bad about stressing and walking the fence. She quit doing it. Also she finally gained some weight by a big margin from that alone. She also was much quieter.
The other mare was a starchy hot head. She chilled a bunch and also put on a good deal of weight.
The third mare I took in to ride for a friend and put good basics on her. She came here picky. And she was thin. I put her on Outlast from the beginning. I rode her pretty hard. She started eating all of her feed and actually gained weight. Her attitude softened considerably.
The gelding is spooky and he beat his bucket to death and grabbed him huge mouthfuls close to choking. He actually started eating at a relaxed pace and was nearly not as spooky.
Basically I noticed they gained better especially the hard keepers and another thing is the mellowing of attitudes.
I'm seeing some distinct differences of those that are now off the 2x a day regime. I am seeing results as in between my horses on it and those that have been on it and those now off it. And I'm
certain it's not a gimmick and I think it would help
A lot of different situations. A vet mentioned that EPM and ulcers seem to run hand in hand. I think it would help horses being treated for EPM, Pssm, hard keepers and horses running and in training.

I started one on it a week ago tomorrow. We are bringing him back from a diagnosis of kissing spines and we’ve noticed he tries very hard and tends to internalize his anxiety. Finding and treating the kissing spines has made a night and day difference - but his pain was the greatest running barrels and he still seems to have quite or bit of anxiety there.

Additionally at feeding time he has a habit of slow motion pawing while he eats, it bothers me and I suspect he has ulcers or at least would easily develop then.

He absolutely inhales the Outlast. I give it to him 1st and then throw hay to everyone and come back with grain. I’ve noticed less pawing throughout the week so I’m excited to see what the 1 month mark looks like. We also give it to him when we haul out before we ride.

I will probably start feeding it to everything when they get hauled.

Thank you for your replies! Thats what i was hoping for before i went and bought a bag. My main guy doesnt show any signs, no bad attitude, gets a little stressed when hauling alone, but hes also buddy sour to my other gelding. i want something extra to give before hauling and just to help settle his tummy a bit. I think im gonna go ahead and give it a shot. My other gelding is currently on the DAC cool gut and its helped him tremendously, he doesnt haul much but he can be cinchy sometimes. So if this works then ill put them both on it.
