If you were going to look at newer living quarter horse trailers and want something nice but don't want to break the bank..what do you look at?

They aren't a hugely popular brand but I've taken a huge notice on the Sundowners.. since we bought our first 1 last year.. I'm really impressed by the quality of these trailers and the nice interior.. the small details. If and when we decide to upgrade, definitely going to try to find another Sundowner.

In the 25 years I've had aluminum LQ trailers, I've owned 4 Star, Silverlite & now Sooner.  I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this Sooner Premier - it is the top of their line, so has all the bells & whistles.  It is SOLIDLY built, many really nice options for the horse area, and I would put the quality of this one against the other 2 also.

I feel like Sundowner is never on peoples 'want' list anymore and I'm not sure why!! I LOVED mine. We never had any issues and had a 3 year nose to bumper warranty on it. So whenever my horses would step on the rubber bumper stepping off of the trailer, they'd replace it. No questions asked. I've been on the hunt for an all aluminum one for quite some time now. I hope you find what you want one day!

When we bought it, it was our very first LQ, we looked at a TON of trailers before finding this little gem at our local dealership. The trailer salesman told us he had just gotten it in on a trade and they hadn't gone thru it yet so he wasnt technically supposed to show it to us... it had been very well taken care of and the lq wasnt ever used. We wanted it right there and then. I'm very very happy with it and it was extremely affordable for us.

I'm on my second Shadow trailer. I think they are great and at a great price point! When and if it comes time to get a new LQ trailer, I'm going with Shadow again.

Look at the Sundowners!

They are really nice quality trailers, at a really good price. I bought mine about 4 years ago and it's been a great trailer so far. No complaints and we've had zero issues out of it.

haha I guess I'm the one on here that says stay away from Sundowner :) I had one, just got rid of it, it leaked.  Friends bought a real nice, high end sundowner...it leaked and had extensive water damage in the LQ.  We went to look at a BRAND NEW Sundowner, had never even been off the lot.... walked into the LQ and the slide leaked and put a huge puddle on the leather sofa.  My mom had a Sundowner, it leaked. So due to personal experience...we purchased a Cimarron with a 4' LQ and love it.

It can happen to any trailer. I have a friend that has a gorgeous bloomer, all the bells and whistles... it leaked.. I know my trailer for sure doesnt leak... as much rain as we've had since we've got it.. I thought well, if it has an unknown leak, we will for sure find out! We got very lucky with this trailer. Mine is a 2012 model. You'll find there are so many opinions on trailers.. lots of people dislike bisons ... but I also have a handful of friends that love theirs and have had no problems. Sooners, the same thing ... cimarron, exiss, platinum etc etc.. I've had 2 trailer salesmen tell us to stay far far away from anything trails west ... I think it just depends on who you ask! This whole thread is making me more and more happy I have the trailer I do and I may never want another lol!
