Location: Amarillo, Texas | For the past year and a half I've been going to school at Lamar Community College in Lamar, CO majoring in their Horse Training Management program and their Barrel Horse Training program. I've had the amazing opprotunity to work with Marilyn Camarillo while being there- which has been such an amazing experience. Anyways- Just wanted to share a couple videos of my horses that I've trained in the program in our little "show" we had on Friday. The bay horse is my 3 year old that has had a semester (90 days) on barrels.. We had a bit of a "baby" moment on second, but still got out alright ;) The buckskin is my 6 year old that I started as a 4 year old. I purchased her for one dollar! She has had three semesters on barrels. I've learned so much from all the instructors there and am going to have a chance to go on two pretty cool internships! So I guess this is kind of a brag post. :) https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=597203233678831&l=8509640075487971217 https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=597196953679459&l=1187683810155683145

Location: Somewhere around here | Hey I went to Lamar too!! I left there in 2012 so I probably left before you got there but I'm glad it's not losing it's popularity!! Who is the 3 year old owned by? She looked like she had a good run in her video, maybe a little big pocket going to her second barrel but she could've been doing that from the fence/dark in being there. Are you in the barrel racing degree as well?

Awesome! It's a small world. Yes I am- they just started the barrel horse training program last year so my class was the first to major in it. :) I own her. |

That's awesome!! That great the you bought your own colt, I"m so happy for you! You must have known Olivia then. I watched her horse "Tiny" from a few videos and it looks like everyone in the barrel racing program is doing great and learning a lot! If I had more money and time I'd go back and do it but I'm just happy that Marilyns program is booming!! Keep up the great work! |
