Has anyone had any luck with colts out of first to shine on the barrels? Are they pretty good minded?

I've seen lot's of First To Shine's race here in LA. They are usually good race horses. I have heard people mention they are hot. I have a daughter that won $15,500 on the track, she is not hot at all. I can't help you much on the barrel questions. I have heard of people riding them on the barrels, but that's about all I know there. I have two colts from my mare. They are very nice looking and really look the part. One's a yearling and the other a weanling. I do want to get them into barrel hand's because I think that is where they will excel. The weanling was running through fence posts set up for a pen at my house like they were poles as soon as he could run. He would weave in and out of them every day for fun and pretty fast too. I would certainly give a First to Shine a try on the barrels. I will attach a couple of pics of the weanling for you to see. This is their pedigree:

We had one that was out of a daughter of Shawnee Bug. He was making a really nice barrel horse and we sold him. He isn't getting run at the moment but will most likely be a youth rodeo horse soon. Not hot at all and very cowy. He got used on the ranch and in ranch rodeos as well as running barrels.

I don't think you can go wrong with hardly any FDD sons. And then add Six Fortunes and Truckle Feature. I love that stallion!

When you take one look at the conformation and the pedigree on FIRST TO SHINE you will want to own one. It will become tuffer to do since he passed away last fall due to a stifle injury just playing around. AQHA article .. http://www.aqha.com/Racing/News-Articles/First-To-Shine-Dies.aspx#....

Very good family of horses ... his full brother FIRST TO FLASH died in an accident and only had one foal crop of 56 babies that have ran out over 2 million on the track and are not finished yet!!

FIRST FERVOR a mare sold for $185,000 as a broodmare ...

One of my broodmare's dam is by FIRST TO SHINE and her foals are dynamic, easy to get along with and all look like each other... The FDD and Six Fortunes bloodlines are always welcome at my barn... !! ..

Broodmare DASHIN ALABAMA pedigree .. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/dashin+alabama

Don't blink your eyes while looking at the pictures ... you will think you are seeing the same colt ... lol ... All three of these colts were born with super conformations and just continued to get better and better ... I can truthfully say .. none of them ever went thru an ugly stage ... lol ...
