The one girl on Big Tips Texas thinks she can make a living off barrel racing. I think everyone can have the dream of being a pro, but let's be realistic you can't live off of barrel racing. I mean even her boyfriend wants her to quick her job and do barrel racing full time. I just don't see how they both think this a realistic goal. . I could be wrong, but it takes so much money to earn just a little bit.

im not sure exactly who you are referring too But I think it is possible to make a living off of barrel racing if you are going to the NFR, thats what brittany pozzi...etc are doing. they do not have any other "job"persay other than barrel racing. But i do not think it is possible to make a living going to ammys..

Morgan from Big Tips Texas she is a beginner barrel racer. I mean once you get to the Pros you can make money, but if you count your costs from the start of your barrel racing I think it will be a really long time to fully cover all the costs.

I just meant realistically for the average person it would be hard. I am not judging I was just pondering why you would want to give up a stable job for a very costly endeavor. I mean she could be rich I don't know, but I was just looking at it from an average job stand point lol.

Oh well I guess let her try and see, if she can do it, great, if not she will learn and go back to a "real" job. I wish I could at least have tried to do it but I'm pretty happy just doing the occasional shows. I Love seeing people follow their dreams even if they DON"T succeed at least they don't regret NOT trying it. :)

Her other job is raising, selling, and training horses.

She doesn't make all of her money just rodeoing. None of the pros do that.  They may not have a 9-5 regular desk job, but they aren't just sitting around doing nothing in between rodeos.

Yeah I didn't think they could live off just barrel racing. I think fame helps them make money I mean who wouldn't want to be able to buy one of their horses saying they bought it from so and so.

Yeah it's interesting watching someone try for it and it's great she's following her dream. All I was saying throwing in everything when you are just beginning seems crazy.
