| For those of you that have ridden both what do think the differences are between the 2? Do you think that the Coats Flex tree fits as well as the Crown C?

Location: CA | I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this as well. I have a crown c that I love, but I'm also interested in the coats and would love to own one of those as well. |

Location: The Lone Star State | I sold a coats 1 1/2 years ago to buy a crown c. My mare pulls so hard coming out of the turns i was constantly getting left behind with the coats plus i needed a smaller saddle with bigger swells. I tried several before getting the crown c It took me a month to get used to it and now I have 2 and I dont ever have that "left behind" feeling anymore. Love the crown C. |

| Thank you guys, I have a Crown C now but it is to narrow for my horse its a 6.5" I think I am going to sell it and buy another one that is wider. I need 2 barrel saddles so I am trying to decide if I want a Coats and a Crown C or 2 Crown Cs, I love my Crown C but have always wanted a coats.
I think my horse needs a 7.5" gullet, my moms 8" is too wide for her. For those of you who have the Crown C's what gullet size do you think fits "most" horses, if I order 2 I am trying to decide if I should get a 7.5" & 8.5" or a 7" & 8," most of my horses are average but I do always have colts and stuff I am riding. Thank you! |

Location: Kansas | I've tried both, and fitted both to my mare. The crown c had a bit more play (7" gullet) on her, while the coats 7" gullet fit her perfect. She is extremely hard to fit, such as going through 6 saddles in the past 2 years!!!! I personally like the Crown C better, the coats was comfortable but I didn't like the way it fit me. The Crown C seemed to really fit me, and allowed me to keep my seat when running and also kept me seated when my mare turned hard.
I ended up buying a different saddle, but I'm definitely looking at getting a custom crown c made for her in the near future. |

| I started with an 8 1/2 in Feb '13. Just got my 9 1/2 a couple of weekends ago. Think most horses are at least 8 1/2.
Ps, we were fitted by Brian and Tracy ... |

| Two different theories on the saddles
Coats sits on the shoulders
Crown c sits behind the shoulders
I don't think you can compare the fit as they both sit on horses differently. |
