Federal employees (military excluded) are UNION

Sorry but NOT all Federal Employees are union. I am a federal employee and my retirement will be SS along with what I have in my Thrift savings plan, that I pay into each paycheck. Yes I will get a VERY small federal pension. The retirement system for Federal employees (I am talking peon employees NOT elected officials) changed many years ago. We pay into SS where they used to not pay.

Same here.  Not all Federal employees are union.  In fact, where I work the ones who are union members is a very low percentage.

Yes budget cuts are going to happen... I think we should be ashamed of cutting the military's money... I think the politicians and other things in our government should suffer first... I can tell you that my husband was blown up and messed up very badly in Iraq. This isnt a pitty party he would do it again for our country, but I can tell you his medical retirement check is nothing and if he wasn't married to me how would he survive???? I have watched him for 6 years with horrible migraines can barely walk at times... He has a traumatic brain injury cant remember half the stuff I tell him. Has ptsd to the point he had to have major counseling just to even deal with civilian life... I can paint a clear picture for anyone that doesn't know about ptsd... He couldn't even go into a room without his back close to the wall so he could see everyone or he would absolutely loose it... The counseling by the Va was not adequate they just sent him home with pills.... As far as his migraines we where in the hospital at least 2 times a week for five years....The Va would just send him out the door with meds which mind you where not working... All in all I took him to civilian doctors that where top in their field that we had to pay for out of our own pocket.. He needed a major surgery in his neck because his nerves where pinched that cost close to 10k AND THAT WAS DISCOUNTED BY THE DOCTOR but supposedly or military people are taken care of??? IT is really sad that is what things are coming too and our military that are busting their butts so you can live in the land of the free.... My husband told me he would do it again in a heart beat and he would love to go back if he could. All in all I think we can cut money somewhere else.
