Location: Wide open spaces, Canada. | My husband and I will be coming to Texas from Canada to vacation in June. I got him tickets to see George Strait in Arlington June 6 th. Now we're trying to find awesome things to do/ see for the week. What are some must see places In Texas? Or unique things to do. We will likely be renting a car. Are there any big barrel races or ropings to watch The first week in June ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated . Thanks. :)

Location: on a horse | The Windy Ryon Mem is over Memorial Day weekend, of course, that is a week before your week, but....it is awesome! ALL the top calf ropers, team ropers are there.
There is always Billy Bob's and Northside rodeo every weekend.
Actually the first week or June, you can find tons of things - rodeo wise, barrel racing and ropings going on and usually within an hour r two of DFW.
Safe travels and I know you will have an awesome time! |

Location: lone star state | You must visit ft worth. Billy bobs and cowtown rodeo have already been mentioned but ft worth is a great cowboy destination. There is also a justin boot outlet worth going to and a resistol hat outlet in garland worth stopping in also. |

Location: North Dakota | Everything is very spread out here so I suggest staying in multiple hotels so you can see various places wihtout getting caught in traffic. The night of your concert I would stay in Arlington. You can take tours of Cowboy stadium if you are a football fan. I would guess the concert is at Cowboy stadium so I suggest you stay at one of the hotels near Six Flags. It is next to the baseball stadium and a short drive to Cowboy stadium. If you like rides Six Flags is fun or even Hurricane Harbor if you like water rides. It is close to Cowboy stadium also. You HAVE to stay at Holiday Inn in FortWorth and WALK to BillyBobs. That way if you drink too much or stay out late you can simply walk back to your hotel. Lots of Rodeo and horse things to see in the Stock yards. I suggest staying in the Stock Yards so you can see the cattle drive and all the drunks try to ride the mechanical bull etc..They also have a Rodeo on Friday and Saturday nights. Lots of fun and you can walk up and down the stockyard streets with your beer in your hand. I also suggest you stay down town Dallas one night lots of museums to see during the day. At night make a reservation at Wolf Gang Pucks restaurant "Five Sixty" it is a restaurant that turns and you can see Dallas from a brids eye view. You have to make a reservations in advance because it is high end but it is worth the experience. the city of Irving has horse statues at Los Colinas that is worth taking the time to see. Anyway I can help you by telling you where to stay and not stay, so if you have any questions pm me, I live here. You have to have a reservation |
