I don't know since it is a hospital run pretty much all on grants and donations. I know most patients/families are provided services for free. I am not sure about those who do have insurance and what they charge them or if they do charge anyone at all.

I edited my original response and added more. The patients/families don't pay for the services........ I don't know if that is all patients or just those who can't pay. They run on grants and donations. I don't know how St. Jude's and Shriner's Hospitals will be affected if at all. This would be a good thread for the Doc.

St. Jude's does so much cancer research and provides such top of the line service..........I sure hope it doesn't hinder that in any way. I know the Shriner's hospitals provide great service for free to children sponsored by a Shriner. I don't know if they do research at those hospitals or not.

I worked at St. Jude in a research lab 10 years ago
(yikes! Where does time go?!
).
St. Jude operates solely on the generosity of others. No child is turned away due to inability to pay. Insurance is billed, but since they don't depend on them, I don't think there will be much affect. However, cost of care will likely increase
(med. devise tax, etc.
)
I think they will be fine.
