I can't be the only one that steps up on a tall horse and rippes the butt out of your favorite jeans?! I have a few pairs of these favorites and I don't know what to do with them! They are American Eagle jeans so they are a little stretchy so I don't know if anyone has tried patching them. Any ideas?

Well you could patch them and just use them for trail riding. Or you could stuff them and throw them over the saddle to break colts in, or use them for a scare crow or a planter. Maybe sew patches together for a quilt.

My mom makes some really cool quilts out of them, they are sooooooo warm! She also made these really cute stockings for Christmas, I think she saw them on pinterest??

Purse? The pockets could be used to hold silverware, napkins or both for a table setting.

I have found a place that will patch them for me but if they're too far gone they go in the burn pile. I just don't have any use for them & I'm sure that if they're that bad I have gotten my money's worth.

The stockings are definitely cute.

I had a pair from the Buckle that I (foolishly) spent over $100 on - of COURSE they were THE first pair I've ever worn clean through - since I paid so much for them, I had them patched - for just a couple of bucks - now the zipper won't stay up!

i have ripped SO many pairs of jeans! i just wear out the inner thigh/butt riding so much! i used to have my Mom patch them and wear them for unloading/stacking hay (since i didn't like to wear hay jeans to ride in and get randomly stuck all the time, even after washing).
Now, i just throw them out because i don't buy expensive jeans to wear to the barn. Honestly, i usually go to the thrift store and that's why i have abercrombie, silver barn jeans! $10!

I patch mine and if the fabric around the tear is too far gone I'll sew a chunk of a bandanna or another pair of jeans on to cover the gap and then just wear them for chore jeans and I've been known to put an old key ring on the zipper to hook over the button to keep the zippers up

I cut the tops off and use the legs to make polo wrap bags. They are PERFECT width and all I have to do is cut a little more off the thigh to make a carrying strap, then sew the bottom closed and hem the top so it doesn't unravel.

Same thing happened to my Miss Me jeans. Never again will I spend that much on a pair of jeans that can't take 9 months of riding lol.

My grandma made pillow shams out of old jeans.  She patched them together like a quilt and then sewed a couple of the pockets on them.
