Location: Minnesota | As some of you may remember my aunt was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. She has decided not to treat it and live whatever time she has left on earth as happy as she can. I spend my days off from work with her and a few days ago she was reading me some of her favorite verses from the Bible and I thought I would share one with you.
"Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed." Pslam 57:1
There are some BBs going through some tough things as well and I hope this may be of some comfort to you as well. Lean on God, let him help you through.

Oh sweetie I'm so sorry for having to go through this. I want to tell you though that my uncle was diagnosed with lung cancer and he chose the same as your aunt, to live life to its fullest without taking treatment. The first thing he did was sell the ranch they had that was wayyyy off the beaten path. He and my aunt picked out some property together. He had a huge building built that is a house, garage, barn and indoor arena all in one so he knew that my aunt would be able to keep enjoying her horses in the most comfort possible after he was gone. When he told his Dr's his choice of treatment or lack of they said he wouldn't make it until Easter. He made it 6 more Easters going soley on prayer and his belief in Christ. The last year was hard but he finished all the new fencing that needed to be done and within a few weeks of finishing that last job he finally let himself go. My Uncle took refuge in the shadow of the Lords wings and he is at peace now. I commend your aunts decision, you are a wonderful niece. Hugs to you and many prayers to your aunt. |

My Grandpa lived years after they told him he only had a few months. When he asked the doc if they could CURE it, & they said they could TREAT it, he said NOPE & lived longer & happier without the misery of the treatments. |
