Was thinking of rescuing this one from the animal shelter.   She is only a year old and underweight.   She is a mix, but I'm not sure what with?

Scout1320 - 2014-01-10 2:58 PM We recently lost Bonnie.  She was a Aussie/Border Collie cross.  She was my hubby's very best buddy, and we are still heartbroken she is gone...  Missing her bunches...

I used to breed Aussie's, every once in a while we would have one of our other stock dogs breed a female. I loved the Border/Aussie cross and my husband and BIL loved the Heeler/Aussie cross.  The heeler/aussie cross pups sold like hot cakes to the guys in S. TX needing cattle dogs.

My current Aussie is going to have a date in the spring. Straight up Aussie if that goes well I want to put her with a bad--- Kelpie dog we have here in the county. I've watched (my parents trial) some pretty nice dogs, they never had anything that could have touched this dude. I know your in our area so look us up.  I do believe this will be an awesome cross for someone needing a "grip" dog that can also function as pops loyal pal.

OP, what I can't stand is someone getting a dog that just isn't right for them in the first place. I stopped breeding for this reason. I have a beautiful red merle in every way except she flunked out of herding lessons (thanks to a multiple fractured jaw). So many have wanted a pup from her that I'm caving in. Have a gal moving to the area with a handsome black tri. she seems to have good contacts so I'm going to go with this but in my mind I'm praying for responsible future owners.

Love our blue merle boy! Deuce is 6 months old and has the best personality! We have always had labs so this was a new breed for us but no regrets. He even fetches like our labs and loves water almost as much.

(Not sure how to attach a picture...sorry!)

Hanna Banana! Hanna has the following kills under her belt: the entire seat of an atv, full deer neck/head mount, several hundred dollars worth of landscaping including a weeping willow tree, air conditioner wiring and insulation, countless toys and currently a cow leg.
