I would not change a single thing about our wedding day. Everyone said that things would happen that will drive you crazy, or it won't run smooth....

Honestly...we were expecting things to go wrong, and they never did. It went great! So-I would not change a thing!

As far as picking the date, we went with June 5th, 2010. It was the closest Saturday to when we actually started dating on June 10, 2006, and the church and hall were open.

I either wanted an April or Oct wedding. We went with Oct. because it could rain or be cold in April. When we went to look at the location (a year before the wedding), the only open Saturday they had was in the middle of Nov. I don't do cold so that was out. We decided to have it on a Friday. I asked him, which date could you remember, 10/04 or 10/11. He said 10/04, so that's what we went with. We got married 10/04/13

The only thing I would change is to take more pictures of just us and the party. We didn't do very many...I was running behind on getting ready and just didn't have the time before it all got started to take all the pictures that I wanted.

I was so opposite of a Bridezilla.  I was the first of us three girls (my two sisters and I) to get married, and my mom had a hey-day with it.  I was like "whatever" to everything and my mom mostly picked.  It certianly turned out ncie, but hindsight 20/20, we should have gone to Vegas.  It is about the couple, not about putting on a big party for 300 of your closest friends and family.  That is how it should be anyhow.

We picked 05/19/12 because it was the first free weekend after my husband graduated college. I finished a year before he did and moved back home for the year, so the faster the better!

If I could change something.... I would have tried to not have been in such a rush! For example: My dress was originally a corset back, but I wanted it to zip and I wanted buttons over the zipper. So, we paid the extra $250ish to alter the back..... only to be in such a hurry that we zipped the dress and totally forgot about the buttons! You can't tell in the pictures, but once I walked out of the church I realized that we had forgotten and I hope that no one in the church could tell they were undone!!

I totally agree on the pictures! I had three of four grandparents living at my wedding and I didn't get any formal pictures of my husband and I with them. I have some non-formal (so thank goodness for that!), but I wish I had better ones as well.

If I was getting married now days instead of a wedding I would save that money & spend it on a honeymoon or things for my house.

After you have been married several years the photos are under your bed with dust on them & who even knows where that dress is

I agree with eloping.  If I had a "re-do" that's what I would do.

I wouldn't trade my reception for anything. It was awesome and none of our friends' weddings yet have even come close. It wasn't formal and was like a giant party. The ONLY thing I would change is that I wouldn't have picked a date smack dab in the middle of nursing school.

lol, we didn really "pick" a date, hubby showed up at work and we where talking about when to get married, so when my supervisor said to leave and go talk to the JP we went and got married that same day. His family is 2000 miles away, and mine are on another continent.... so we just went ahead and got married. Both in uniform.... now that makes for a nice wedding picture....
I still remember my mom telling me not to get married in jeans.... well.... I didn't......

I would get a new photographer and DJ. I went with suggestions from my husband's stepfather. The photographer was there for like an hour, pics from the dressing room, ceremony and in one spot afterwards. He had another job to go to. Wouldn't go cheap on that again. Thank goodness a lot of my friends are into taking pictures so we got good ones from them. The DJ didn't have our first dance song, so I had to pick another at the last minute. He was a bigger guy and fell out of his chair at one point. Every time I left to go to the smoking area he played one of the songs I had requested on a list, really uncool. It was a small venue you could see me. And he brought his kids dressed in muddy boots, cutoff shorts, lookin like ragdolls, and they ate our food. (We did buffet style) OH and he started 30 minutes late, and expected a tip afterwards....Yeah right!

I always wanted a spring wedding outside, we live in Florida so May is too hot, April rains usually, so we went with March 27th(Saturday), turned out to be perfect weather.
