Here's a newpaper article about my daughter Jaycie. When she was 5 she was kicked in the top of the head by a horse. It crushed the top right side of her skull and she had bone fragments all over down deep in her brain. That was 6 yrs ago and she is a perfectly normal 11 yr old. When kids are little they have the ability to heal much better than even an older child. The doctors told us had Jaycie been even 6 or 7 yrs old she probably wouldn't have healed the way she did. When they are little the brain isn't finished growing and can re-route information and other parts of the brain can compensate for what was injured, or in our case, removed. Your little guy will heal up just fine, I'm sure of it. Those little toots are much stronger and resilient than we given them credit. Prayers to you and your family.

Good lord, that must have been unimaginably terrifying. My daughter is 5, and I just can't imagine... I am so thankful she is ok!!! Hugs to your family!! Was the horse being a jerk when it happenned, or just a plain accident? |

| i am soo thankful for all the prayers
lil man had a rough day yesterday . not responding in any way but had his eyes open-- they reduced the morphine he was on and he had physical therapy today after the morphine levels came down he came alive--is talking tried to smile. i am headed up after work tonight to see him.. i got to talk to him on the phone breifly.. but nanny needs to see him in person . this a 180 turnaround compared to what the drs said just this morning.
i am so happy to hear all the stories of young children having these accidents with no ill effects in the future-- we are thankful hes alive..but having him back 100% down the road will be a true blessing to our family.
now nanny can take a nap before work tonight |
