Location: Texas | I don't have any sons or daughters, but I do have two granddaughters of FDD. One on the paternal side as she is a daughter of Stoli. The other is out of a daughter of FDD. They are both different. There's so much more bloodline wise thats close up on both of their pedigrees to account for. I like them both and I enjoy riding them both, well one is a broodmare now, but they aren't really all that much alike! |

| My broodmare is a granddaughter of FDD. She has never been handled much except at the track many years ago. She is easy to handle though. I have two full sisters that are too young to ride but they are gentle and eager to learn. |

Location: MD | In most cases, we are now talking about grand/great grand get. I honestly think that it really depends on the cross with the FDD's. For instance, I have a mare by First N Kool and a gelding o/o a Sir Austin Duncan daughter currently. I can tell you that there are absolutely no similairities between them, other than that they have 4 legs and a tail. Of course, there is a ton of other pedigree in them that also leads to their differences, as well. The DTF's that I have encountered have been very unlikethe First N Kools physically, but more alike mentally. The Sir Austin Duncans have been unlike any of the FDD's that I have known. The only thing that they have all had in common is that they could all RUN. |

Location: Montana | I think the general consensus is that FDD had a great mind that he passed on to his foals. For that reason, he was bred to a lot of super fast but hot mares in an effort to give them some brains. That's one of the reasons their are so many Beduino/FDD crosses that did so well.
For that reason it's tough to say that all FDD horses are good barrel prospects because you have to look at whether the rest of the pedigree is bringing in some of that hotter headed blood which might cause some issues. But, he probably never bred a mare that was a dink from a racehorse perspective. Few studs benefit from the management FDD had.
In other words . . . as always you have to look at the whole pedigree. |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | We have a Gdaughter. She's lazy and seems to have trouble figuring out how to control her body. A friend of ours had a brother of our mare. He was running real nice at an early age and then seemed to fry so he's going back to the basics and roping steers. I think in our case they seem to mature slower so we're doing whatever works for the horse. |

Location: Western performance horse Hades | My horse is by a son of Corona Cartel out of a daughter of First Down Dash. His conformation is more First Down Dash too. He's very sweet, personable. Super bendy and very light on his feet. He wants to please but at the same time he goes through periods of "do I have to?' I liken his attitude to that of my 6-year-old son. A good kid, sometimes I wonder if Dawin is going to get him and then he surprises me with something brillant. |
