When bidding, how do you know that a seller didn't create another account and is bidding up their own items?  I'm always skeptical when I see bidders against me that have 0 or 1 as their feedback numbers!

It happens all the time. I was bidding on some earrings and got outbided and a few days later they were relisted.

If you have time to be by the computer you could try "Sniping" the auction....in other words wait till there is less than a minute on the auction and then place your bid at the max you are will to pay. I usually end mine in some odd cents i.e. $20.23. I have shopped victoriously this way many, many times.  It is a little annoying to other bidders if they are legitimate but I'm okay with that.  Otherwise I look for the same item for sale with a buy-it-now option so I don't have to wait for the end of an auction.  Good luck!

Yep, me 3! There has been several times I've bid on very unique items and lost to another bidder with a low feedback score only to find the SAME unique item relisted a couple days later. These are things I KNOW the seller doesn't have 2 of therefor the "winning bidder" on the first auction was obviously created by the seller. There's no way to get around this but even so, eBay is a great way to find GREAT deals on some stuff and even through all the headaches I still LOVE eBay!!
