I'm an avid reader and was excited to read her new book, however I am having a really hard time getting into it.  I'm about 130 pages into it and it is boring me to death.  Did anyone else have the same feeling, or am I odd...  Will it get better later in the book?

Thanks!

I read it. It's very much a a story about the characters as well as the broader ideas they represent.

I didn't love it. It was okay. Not a feel good story like Harry potter. It's much more real.

I was so excited about it. Bought it. Probably about as far into it as you are when I put it down. Haven't picked it up again. Wasn't enough to draw me in or really interest me. Pretty bummed about it.

I finished it. It's not a story that pulls you in deeply by the plot line. I personally like character development and broad reaching themes that make statements at the end of the novel. It is nothing like the Harry Potter series ... but I still found parts enjoyable.

I am a DIE HARD Rowling fan... And I hated it.

It seemed to me that she was trying to write something that didn't come natural to her at all. She lost her voice in it, you can't tell that it is her writing. Her style is so fun and witty and the Casual Vacancy is just lacking that sparkle.

Her other book "The Cuckoo Calling" - written as Robert Galbraith - is FABULOUS. Rowling writes with her fun style and quick, witty dialogue. It's like reading about Hagrid the Private I. I suggest the Cuckoo Calling FAR ABOVE the Casual Vacancy.

Well... I didn't know this... But I read the Bachman books before I knew who the real author was.. And I suspected who it was...
