Β I need to remove carbonated drinks and sugar and probably wheat from diet. Pretty much everything that tastes good. Lol

yes, you do and once you get it out of your system and try to eat it it tastes YUCKY!!! Soda to me is like trying to eat 2 packets of sugar at one time, and I tried to have a piece of cake at a party this weekend. Not happening...it was gross, not to mention 20 minutes after eating 4 bites of cake my face was flushing and I was dizzy.

The benefits? Not only like the others mentioned...but I have lost 7 lbs of STOMACH weight after doing this diet since January 1, where for me, even if I was a size 3 and counted calories and worked out a lot I still had a fatter stomach and love handles and the rest of me was slender. So it's SOOOO worth it! i say GO FOR IT!

sodapop - 2014-02-08 8:30 PM I wonder if the wheat farmers have taken a hit since these types of diets have become so popular?  Is there something that is being done to the wheat to make it worse for people than it used to be?
 GMO....pesticide resistance, higher yields.....

Different types of wheat go towards different food products it's produced for, pastas verses bread....

Read the Wheat Belly book if you get a chance it explains ALOT and all better then I ever could

There is no GMO wheat being grown for commercial production. They have done field trials but it's not FDA approved so you can't go out and buy the seed.  Modern wheat is different but it got like that the old fashioned way.

I do grow wheat. The market is down but so are all commodities. It has more todo with increased supply for the moment rather than decreased demand.

Seriously, people, how could anyone dislike a factual post?

lol three, I am sure it was disliked because most people want to believe that every conventional way of farming is now "contaminized" by GMO's.  Knowing facts about agriculture apparently is something people don't want to recognie anymore.  Just the big bad corporate farmers doing bad things.

Sorry-off my soapbox...ok one more.  Go three and farming wheat!!!!!  :)

And now for how I view this.  I don't drink soda.  Most days of the week I am eating mostly veggies, now some sort of fish (for added energy), and a good protein.  Bacon usually counters my carb craving for breads.  I have done 2 months straight of no wheat type products.  My body still craved them like a big dog.  And I LOVE sweets.  That is who I am.

So I don't deprive myself of them.  I am going to a wine conference this weekend.  Am I going to eat stuff with wheat in it? heck yes I will!!!  Will I eat chocolate? Probably more than I should.  Am I going to feel guilty?  Nope!  And my body won't feel worse for the wear.

I exercise everyday and I am out with the horses everyday.  I eat clean for most of my week.  My body fat is the lowest it has been and maybe lower than when I played competitive sports.  I weight less than when I played competitive sports.  I sleep great and I feel good.  My stomach is fine.

Everything in moderation.

Β Something else to think about. Β Most of our wheat gluten is imported. Β A lot from China. Think about that. Β  http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/05/04/AR2... Β

Wow,

Perhaps instead of saying  they are gluten free, folks should be saying  they only eat U.S. Gluten!

It's reality, which is unfortunate for many products in the grocery store....

I'm thinking along the lines of calling myself a producer so I can sign up for these conferences.

Hey I am getting you wine missy so don't be jealous!!!  (that is to three).  Of course, you have a month and a half to wait until I go buy it.  haha!

Three that statistic on China wheat made me laugh.  It isn't funny but for some reason it made me laugh.  Maybe it is because I can't get into my systems this morning and so I am twittling my thumbs and am getting frustrated because I have work to do!  Namely, finishing that stupid presentation for the conference this weekend!
