Location: ohio-in my own little world with pretty ponies :) | We are in a pretty wet area and my stalls have a hard time staying dry...doesn't help I have a couple messy boys but still. The only thing I have found is picking them out 2x a day which is difficult on some days. Some days it's hard to get it done once, but I've been making it work to keep them dry. I used to always clean them once a day but they were wasting so much saw dust it's crazy bc they were wet. We have nothing leaking. It makes the saw dust damp. I was having to add bedding every other day....any body found a good way to keep them dry or is the 2x a day thing a better option than wasting money on some of those products that claim to keep them drier and soak up more. |

Location: The end of the Earth, SE AR | I use the stall pellets, the ones that are pine and work like cat litter and soak up liquid. I do not do what they say on the bag, when its wet out I just put a few bags in the stall in the areas that they keep wet. |

I've seen the corn cob bedding before...has anybody used that? My teacher at school used to use those. |

Love the pellets, I will never go back to shavings. They work so much better!! |

Location: OK | I use sawdust too and most of the time, picking it once a day is fine, but what I try to do is turn them out or even take them out and tie them once a daywhile I'm messing around the barn and I turn a fan on the sawdust while I'm cleaning. After I take out all the dirty, I turn over any that feels damp and let it get some air.
Pretty soon, it will be summer and we will be misting it to keep the dust down lol. Hang in there :) |

I've never thought of that!! I will have to try that! Right now they are usually out for an hour at least but they don't have a shelter and it's been extremely cold here so they don't want to be out long. I cannot wait for summer! |

Location: SE KS | I use a granule called Sweet PDZ, that I get at the local feedstore. Sprinkle it on the wet spots, seems to help. I also use the "pellets" that act like cat litter!! The combo of the two products help keep mine in good shape.

| Mats similar to this were my best friend when i had a gelding who peed enough for 3 horses... had to keep him on stall rest for a few months...

it was well worth the money... i wish i dug it up and brought it with me when i left the boarding facility. |

They go out every evening when I get home for a couple hours but are in the rest of the time except for riding and in the summer they stay out a lot more. The answer is...I have a barn full of sissies!! I tried to keep them out longer on Saturday and they were pacing the fence to come back in! |

Apparently none of them like the cold..like their momma! They would all rather be inside during the winter. In the summer...can't hardly catch em!

| Compressed pellets over crushed limestone or mats. The mats need to be able to drain. Once you put 5-6 bags in each stall initially and water them your stall cleaning will really be a breeze. Then put a coffee can full in the pee spots and don't wet them. |
