One ofmy dogs seems to have anxiety or something. Any little sound he barks like crazy and he shakes when new people come over like he can't handle new things or things he can't see. Has anybody found
Something good to help calm a nervous dog? I can't take him anywhere and it's hard when people come over

Our chocolate lab has seperation anxiety from my husband so everytime he leaves she cries and cries. What I do is keep her busy, ill take her to the barn with me or down to our pond. It helps but she always gets a little anxious when my husband goes somewhere without her.

I've tried taking him to town with me. He is a nervous wreck in the car. I've tried taking him to horse shows with me. If it's not someone that lives with us he can't handle them. Our whole family has been to our house a million times and he can't handle himself when people come over. When cars drive by he barks and barks and barks 10 minutes after. And once he heard a sound he is on high alert and anything makes him freak! It's getting worse the older he gets. He is 4

Could he be losing his vision? That will make them more on edge

I have one with anxiety - does not sound as bad as yours however. I bought the thunder shirt and it really seems to help especially if I put it on her before her triggers. I don't think we could live with her without it. The medications we tried made her a zombie so the thunder shirt works better for us. Good luck.

We had one who recently started acting very different, it was new to how she would normally act. It turns out that she was allergic to the chicken product in the dog food, we changed her food and she is totally a new dog, not sure if this is close to the same thing or not but worth a shot to look into.
ETA: Mine went totally off the wall crazy, would act out, pee on the floor, growl at everything.
