Location: MN | I’ve been window shopping to get my husband a 4-wheeler for our farm. The property is 10 acres and primarily needed for dragging the arena, plowing lighter snow falls and other general farm chores. Any in-put as to the size we need? 400 enough? Hubby once mentioned a 700, but he wasn’t entirely sure and I’m having a hard time finding any used ones! |

Location: Smack Dab in the Middle | I have an Articat 400 and it works great. We use it to pull my manure spreader, spray weeds (30 gal sprayer), and pony the horses. I don't know how much snow it would push, never used it for that because we have a skidsteer. Hubby wants a 500 or 600, but I don't see the need myself.
One thing to consider though...you can not claim them as farm use (for tax exemption or as a detuctible at tax time) unless they have a bed, like a mule or gator. So that's probably what we will get next. My FIL's mule is handy as all get out, but it's the smallest one Kawasaki makes and doesn't go fast enough to exercise horses. |

Location: mi | The one we have is I think a 400. Its an automatic and 4x4. we use it to spread manure. Its a small spreader the one that holds about 6-8 muck buckets of manure. I use it to drag my arena. I have a 4 foot by 4 foot tooth drag. and it does plow the snow. We have a small blade for the front of it. Does good up until about 6" then it turns into work. Love it!
Just double checked with the hubby and it is a Honda Rancher 400. We have gotten it stuck in a very muddy spring or a super wet heavy snow winter but otherwise it is dang good.

Location: Southern OK aka God's Country | We have a Yamaha Grizzly 600 and it has worked for everything we need it for and it has lasted a long time without any major issues. We have several sandy creek crossings and it handles everything ok. If you don't have a lot of terrain I would think a 400 would be plenty for a farm. If I buy another one it will be a Grizzly. |

Location: Wisconsin | We have Polaris 500s, hubby wishes we would have gotten a 700 for plowing the driveway. The 500 gets it done most of the time, but when its heavy wet snow we ask the neighbor bring the skid steer over.
Otherwise the 500s have been great and get any other job done that we have thrown at it, |

| Get the biggest one you can afford. Personally I would get a honda. Resale will be better with a larger cc. |
