...so years ago the standard was to try and keep everything all in on page, try and to be as succinct as possible.
What are employers looking for these days? Some of my peers' are anywhere from a page to multiple pages (from what i've notiched, the longer ones don't necessarily equate to a higher quality "prospect")

Everything I've read lately still says keep it to one page, with a reference page separate. If an employer has a ton of resumes to go through, they aren't going to want several pages per person.

One page, front and back allowable. Separate page for references.

I don't know about length but I do know many of my friends are opting now for professional services in helping them get the best resume out there that they can.  If you aren't having any luck, it might be worth a try.  I don't think that they were spending a whole ton of money to have it done and the one I did see, it looked great.  Good luck in your job hunting!

It all depends on work experience, I was told 2 pages plus a cover letter and on the bottom of the second page references provided upon request.

I've always been told two pages. No more.

It depends on work experience and type of job, but in general 2 pages with a separate cover letter is ideal, and references provided separately.  I am involved in the hiring process for highly sought-after positions and am quite disappointed in most of the resumes we receive.  One page is not enough to fully explain what you did in past jobs that will help you to be successful in the new job unless it is an entry level position.  On the other hand,  more than two pages of resume can get tedious to read.  Please take time to do a personalized cover letter specific to the hiring manager/company to which you are applying.
