Seriously??? That looked more like a jackpot to me, than a rodeo atmosphere. I saw one guy hit a barrel, one almost fall off, and one guy just wasn't fast enough; and I don't think the ground or the atmosphere had anything to do with it. How many rodeos have you seen have a drag after every 5? |

The men there definitely deserved to be there. And the ground wasn't bad but it wasn't deep perfect Big 4D/futurity ground either, so I'm sure that was a factor, but not just for the men's horses--there were jackpot GIRLS there too. Those guys are at the top of the game and know how to handle pressure, and that wasn't even close to the atmosphere of a big rodeo perf anyway. No one should be trying to make excuses for them. Poop happens, this is rodeo. It wasn't their day. |

The finals will be in a much smaller arena? or will it be comparable to what we saw today. I'm trying to think how big a pattern you can set on a FB field.
I don't know how big they will set the arena up, but just the playing area of a football field is 300 feet long...and 160 feet wide...then you have endzone all the sidelines space. |

| Mesquites ground is HARD and rutty! It DOES come into play when you run there. I agree that your horse has an advantage if he has ran there before specifically BECAUSE of the hard, rutty ground. I have had more gals tell me that their horses simply can't work in that ground, so even though it's a close rodeo, they don't enter. |
