You all should go read who has responded. I understand their complaint. Once you make the rules, you should stick to them. Either way it is certainly exciting. What is the specific name of the American Group? Thanks! RFD TV The American.

Either way it is certainly exciting. it is exciting....and it's their deal, they can do what they what and make the rules as they go......it's on the ground floor and to make this a yearly massive entertainment event, they need to kind of wing it to start with.....not too much though....
i did go and read it and it seems that it's probably even as to who is happy about these guys getting in and who's not.....the way bigger outpouring is for Kelly Wardell to get a bareback examption....go kelly....!!!
It is very exciting. By this time next year, the rules will be definite and written in stone I am sure. I can't wait to watch this. I enjoyed watching yesterday. I like all the guys they let go on with the exemptions. I agree Kelly Wardell is like a machine! Wow. Did you see those 50 year old abs? |

I have missed that so far (the unhappiness that is)- but I think it is great. And I figured they would roll the million but they are going to spread it out if no one wins it.
I posted on facebook- I predict it will be two studs and two mares in the final 4. Slick, Skye, Happy and Cervis mare. My wildcard is the Royal Star Commander- if he is focused-Im not sure he can be outran. Of course for legends sake- Id love to see Charmayne in the final four but I just dont know what to expect from her- as I have not even seen where she has gone to a public event and placed?? Not that she certainly isnt capable.
For the fans sake- Id love it to be Charmayne, Sherry, June and Kay.
I would love to see June Holeman go in there and smoke a run. I also hope Charmayne does too. Really, I am just rooting for everyone, but would like to see those two stand out for sure. |

I think at 70 the chances of her winning at this level for many, many years to come is unlikely. Her big success has come later in life. She said in her interview that this horse is probably her last great one. Tugged at my heart. From everyone I've ever talked to that knows her says she is a great person too. At one time she use an old ambulance to pull her horse trailer. She sounds pretty resourceful and interesting.

In her interview she said she was "70 and a half". LOL I loved it. She qualified for her first NFR in her 60's I believe. |

Are you kidding me? How many 70 yr olds can run a multitude of different horses at a Pro level? Not just pro level but the top of the pros. Your comment baffles me and totally rubs me the wrong way. |

She said her daughter helped with the $500 entry fee. It is great to see her doing so good. Hope she wins a lot of $$, |

Location: Michigan | I had trouble understanding the payout system for the $1 million, but found this today. The "not" top 10 winners (if they win the event) will be in a pot to split the $1 million. Can't wait to watch it this weekend!
THE AMERICAN will consist of the top 10 barrel racers in the world free of entry fees, as well as, the 10 contestants that qualified through the Qualifiers and Semi-Finals, and the Exemption or Exemption Match winner (making a field of 21). THE AMERICAN will be two runs. All 21 competitors will have one run, with the top 4, after that run, moving on to a shootout round that will determine the champion and reserve champion (one run determination, not average on 2).
The champion will win $100,000 and the reserve champion will win $25,000. In the case that the champion came from the "not" top-10, they will place themselves in a pot for the chance to win $1,000,000.
Who wins the million?" Pam from Missouri asked. Bernard explained that the million-dollar prize is set up in the qualifiers and exemptions. As an example, Bernard said, if a tie down qualifier and barrel racer qualifier both win their events, they will both split the million dollars.
