When properly used, I think ETI is great! It really helps you see what's going on. Great for lameness that you can't figure out.
You can saddle fit pretty well with you hand, as well as eyes. I haven't used it for saddle fitting.

Vegas had the classic signs of a sore stifle when she was 4. I figured I need to have them injected, but I wasn't willing to start injecting the stifles of a 4 year old so I hauled her to OK for a Thermal. Turns out she had strained her hamstring so it looked exactly like a sore stifle, but it wasn't. Had I starting injecting and running her, I would have been in a fine mess.
As it was, all she needed was time and she was good as new. |

Wow, that is kind of cool. Good info! Neither of my horses are sore or lame, I was just curious. The gal does 25 images for $100. I heard it could be great for saddle fitting, like if you ride your horse for a few weeks, then get the images, it can show pressure points you thought actually fit?? But sounds like it is worth the investment! |

That's really interesting. I have a gelding that has me baffled. I've debated having the thermal imaging done, now I think I'll make an appointment. |

We diagnosed it with a thorough lameness exam by one of the best vets in the country and he then used the thermal. He didn't feel xrays were needed on this particular horse given what he was seeing.
As this was 3 years ago and she's never had a problem with it since, I feel it was an accurate diagnosis. |

When we hauled Vegas to OK for the thermal, a friend of ours sent her mare too because this mare had just about every joint injected and was still lame. But it was a very inconsistant lameness.
Thermal showed hot in her front feet but it wasn't overly hot. Did xrays and she had chipped in both coffins. |

That is some cool voodoo medicine but I love it that it takes the guess work out of it. I will be setting up an appointment with an in State vet that offers the Thermal Imaging. |

 Worst.Housekeeper.EVER.
Location: Missouri | I've had it done. It confirmed what I knew...she was sore. I didn't feel like it helped much. She had hot spots in all the places I already knew were hurting...stifles, hocks, back, etc. so there wasn't much new information. I guess it made me look like less of an idiot to the vet. |
