Need informed opinions on Dash For Perks horses...without a lot of research, it seems Ive always heard great things about them...anybody have bad experiences they would like to share? I'm looking to buy...good experience opinions/stories welcome, too :)

Message Chelsea Kroes on FB. She has a ton of experience with DFP horses and even owns a DFP stud.

I have a daughter and the only thing I can say negatively is hat she can get hot.  She is a dream to work around, haul and do anything with.  She runs the same pattern every time.  Plus she is big, strong and beautiful.

I would be interested to know her dams side. I had an own son for several years and was the opposite of hot. If you didn't have spurs on, good luck getting him moving anywhere in a hurry, super lazy at loping circles. He was all business when he entered the pen, but not hot.

Like yours though he was really strong, he was big and powerful. Loved his job. I honestly don't have one bad thing to say about DFP's. Very anxious to get my hands on another.

That just sounds like a trainer/rider issue.

I have a DFP daughter out of a AAA MR Master Bug mare. I love her she is a big powerhouse, one of the most powerful horses I have rode when leaving a barrel. She has a huge stride and just floats across the ground and sucks up and turns like a little horse. I love her mind she isn't hot at all, actually she is almost lazy. I have rode a grandson of DFP and he is the same way. The only thing I would say is they are clowns and slower to mature than some lines.

My 3yo DFP colt just left last night to begin his road to barrels.  So far, from the ground, he is somewhat hot.  His dam is very hot and the DFP blood seems to have tempered that.  Time will tell if more of the hot will fall away, with training and consistent work, or if he remains hot.  My opinion is that he will always be somewhat strong.  But he is smart and sweet too, so also hoping those characteristics will remain dominant.

I LOVE my DFP! Like others have said, he's a big, powerful horse. He has a giant stride and looks like he's just loping through, but can really shut off the clock. He's a very gritty horse, not mean, just isn't an in-your-pocket, lovey dovey kind of horse. All business, but I wouldn't call him hot at all. He was a cinch to train, lots of natural rate and took to the rodeo scene very well. I wish every horse I had had the bone and work ethic he does.

Thanks y'all!   I see I still have a few haters on here disliking commets, HA!  Gotta love it!

I dont have any bad thigs to say about them.  Heart Heart Heart. Great Feet. quiet minded and very willing.  Tons of athletic ability and try!

We own 2 daughters, 2 sons (yes one is our future fortunes stallion Perks Firewater Flit) and a ton of grand get of course :)

Theres not many sires who are on the top sires list, maternal AND paternal grand sires list... and also the only stallion to also have a son on the top sires list.

Cant say enough great things about them!!!

We have 3 Dash for Perks geldings -

http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/strictly+cash+066

http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/mocha+perks+066

http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/perks+dashnstar

They are all really nice horses....and all very laid back but willing.  It's like they conserve their energy, I know that sounds crazy but the Mocha Perks gelding just piddles around when your riding him and it drives me nuts sometimes, but bust a steer out of the chute and he's on it.  They don't ever seem to get rattled no matter the situation.

I hope the Strictly Cash gelding will have a little more "get up and go" about him...we'll see
