My 3 year olds tail has drastically thinned over the past month or two. She has been wormed and I havent noticed her rubbing her tail on anything. Her mane is full too. Any ideas on what could be causing it to just thin all of a sudden?

My aged horses i tie a knot in there tail in november and the put vet rap on it. My retired mare stil touches the ground with the know in a couple of weeks i will wash it and cut it off and make some jewlery out of whats left.

Are you supplementing selenium in any way? The reason I ask is because a thinning tail can be one of the first signs of selenium poisoning.
