A Cool Sharp One

| Need some suggestions, we have stayed at MGM, Paris and Bally's twice and was wanting to stay somewhere different this year. I did check with the Mirage and they have a good room rate of $75 for the NFR but they do have a $28 per day resort fee tacked onto that, and really that is one of the highest resort fees we have seen and I am leary of staying there as we just had some friends come back from staying there and they got "bed bugs". They said the hotel was very accomodating and offered to replace their luggage, etc.
Has anyone else had any other experiences, good or bad at The Mirage? |

Location: MN | The Mirage has always been one of my favorite hotels in Vegas and during the NFR they have a very fun after rodeo party. It is easy to get around, is a shuttle bus stop, and is walking distance to Country Christmas.
Love the Mirage! Now, bed bugs, not so much... But these days isn't that the chance you take at any hotel? |

Location: Idahome | The Mirage has always been nice. My inlaws stayed there last year and got 1 free meal ticket a piece for the buffet there. Treasure Island is also nice and it is right next door. |

Location: MD | We just stayed at the Mirage last year. very clean, friendly staff, beautiful hotel. Just don't touch the mini bar. Thankfully the people at the main lobby kind of laughed about it and removed all of the charges for me. haha :)
ETA: the rodeo after party was GREAT. LOVED that they shut off the sports book just for airing the rodeo, I got to see and meet lots of contestants just moseying around the hotel, so cool! lots of fun and being able to walk right up to our room was really awesome.

Location: Florida | Ive stayed at Ballys, Caesar & Harrahs during the NFR. Ballys is nice because of its Central location. Caesars is AMAZING and the rooms are to die for, I could watch the TV from the massive whirlpool in the bathroom, lol. BUT get ready to walk MILES to get anywhere. The hotel is massive and NOT cheap in any way. Harrahs is the place to be. Reasonanbly priced and FUN FUN and more FUN. Place was always packed with NFR goers. The thing I like most about it is, of course, Toby Keiths but that there are many food places to grab a quick bite, like McDonalds, Outback and other little food places right outside their door. Plus Carnival court is quite entertaining. They also have packages, when it gets closer, where if you book with them they will give you NFR tickets. I got VIP tickets from them one year with transportation and good seats. Not the best seats, but free is free... The rooms are okay. Mine was nicer than the one at Ballys, it was overlooking the Mirage fire pit and had a mini balcony. Some of my other rodeo watching friends stay at Silvertons(?) and Southpoint because they have good packages for the NFR. |

| We usually stay at the Excalibur. Reasonable and centrally located. I also like the fact they hve fast food restaurants upstairs so we can get something quick, if needed. |

| We have stayed at the Excalibur, Bally's and South Point. Our favorite is the South Point, but we rent a car to get around. We like to go to the Gold Buckle Ceremony so that's our preference. South Point has been the cleanest and nicest that we have stayed at so far. We plan to stay there this year again. |

| don't want to rent a vehicle unless we have to, so we are trying to find somewhere on the strip,
wonder when the packages will come out that have the NFR tickets with them? |

| Have stayed at Planet Hollywood and Mirage. Both were awesome, plusses an minuses to both. Mirage's after party is wonderful. I love the vibe at Planet Hollywood. We always go as a group and just split a taxi to and from T&M. You couldn't give me a free rental car in Vegas! Holy bad drivers!! |

Location: The Oklahoma plains. | We have stayed many places. I would try NY Ny or Excalibur then they are right by the MGM for the Tram? Or go further down the strip and try something new. I dont think you can really go wrong on any of them if you arent concerned with price. Our most fun was the San Remo but it is now Hooters-haha so we havent been back there. We enjoyed the Bellagio but I prefer a smaller casino myself. We liked the Orleans but it is not on the strip. Of course the South Point is awesome and they do have shuttles to the strip. |

I agree with this! Harrahs is just so close to everything including the rail so you can go easily to anywhere on the strip! It's not the fanciest but I'm never in my room so that doesn't bother me! As far as the cost I'm not sure because we always stay free since we gamble too! I have stayed at MGM, Treasure Island, Ceasars, Flamingo! I like Mirage for watching NFR on the big screen but its too dark in there! The whole hotel just too dark and old feeling! |

Location: NW Arkansas | We stayed at the Mirage last year for the NFR and had a great time. The after the rodeo party by Rodeo Vegas was great. You can ride the shuttle to the rodeo. McDonalds and a Dennys ( I think it was a Dennys) right across street. We didn't have issues with bed bugs. Roper's Cowboy Christmas is across the street. You can catch the tram across the street, too. We rode it to MGM to go to NRS Cowboy Christmas and out to the Convention center to their Cowboy Christmas. It's a nice central location. However, as someone already said don't touch the mini bar! LOL!

| Mirage hands down! Tried someplace different next year-it did not work out. Will be going back to the Mirage this year. Their NFR watching area and after party get better every year! You won't be disappointed. |

| yes my husband was not happy with the fact that we couldn't use the refrigerator at the Mirage; and they have a $28 a day resort fee that is one of the higher ones..... but we still have time to think all about it |
