Anyone have/had both? Any pros vs cons on either one against the other?

I have a Bob Marshall and REALLY want a Circle Y Tammy.  So I'm interested in comparison from people who have ridden both.  I like the rigging on the Tammy better just from looking at it.  It seems less bulky.

I have had both the original Bob Marshall by Circle Y and now I have a Tammy Fischer. I liked both but definitely like the Tammy Fischer better. It feels more durable, solid etc. Mostly it just has improvements from the Bob Marshall such as the rigging. I bought the wide fit b/c in my opinion the regular would only be for very narrow horses, almost like arabians. Anyway, I highly recommend the Tammy Fischer.

I had a Bob Marshall for years and now have a Tammy Fischer.
I like the Fischer hands down above the Bob Marshall.

Its set your feet more forward, has a more stable feel, doesnt seem to fold up around you as much as the original, and I dont catch my bra on the horn!!  I will have to say though that the mare Im riding it on it does tend to slide more but I will be changing to a shorter girth and hope that corrects the issue ( she is pretty small and has no withers)

I have the Bob and the Jackie.... I love my Bob for just riding in.... But I find my Jackie is better for barrel work and making a run as it does have more support as the others have said.

I have the Tammy Fischer for my hard to fit gelding and I've ridden in the Bob Marshall. I like them both but I like the Tammy better. It's sturdier and the seat seems a little thicker and not as flimsy.

I love that saddle.

I have a Tammy right now and absolutely love it (now that I have it semi broke in). I didn't like it at first, I got it brand new and the fenders were a "pita" to break in! They would pinch and bruise my inner leg right below my knee. I finally ended up bringing it in the house and rolled and rubber banded the fenders then stuck a broom stick in the stirrups to get them to turn. Only had to keep it like that for about 30 days whenever I wasn't riding in it. I've had it for six months now and only use it on my main horse. I will eventually transition to having all Tammy Fisher saddles. I have owned Bob Marshalls too and by far in my opinion the Tammy is sturdier, better built and doesn't fold up on you and keeps you in proper position during your run without being binding. :)

I like the bob marshall much better!!! I bought a new tammy fischer saddle as my first treeless saddle....thought i really liked it UNTIL i rode in a bob marshall...sold my tammy and bought a bob marshall - used . the stirrup wholes on the tammy is cheaply made too and the holes wear out with little wear... lost several of the rhinestones within a year....it is not made better than a BM. I think I was able to get better rides with the bob marshall...

I had a BM years ago and I now have a Jackie. The only thing I don't like about the Jackie is the fenders being set forward as I want my leg to be in the proper place...right underneath my hip. I'm hoping if I get my horse back in shape, my Caldwell will fit him again. Not a treeless fan but you do what you have to do.

I had the fortunate opportunity to have a brand new BM and a brand new circle Y  Tammy Fischer at the same time.

This is just personal opinion.  I think the leather quality on the BM is far superior then the Circle Y.  I think the design on the Circle Y is better for the horse and the rider.  I had a lot of trouble with all three BMs that I tried either rolling really bad or sliding back. I didn't have as much trouble with the Circle Y.

The design of the stirrups on the BM (without fenders) allows your legs to go whereever including getting really far behind, which can be very bad for some riders.  The tammy and jackie designs hold your legs much more stable.  The Circle Y also has neoprene in the center of their saddle which gives the horse's back more support.  The BMs can be folded in half easily, the circle ys are a little stiffer and though I'm sure you could fold one in half, it would take a lot more effort.

I currently own a Jackie but ride more often in my meleta brown.  One of the big things with both BM and circle y is you will need a shorter girth, especially with the circle Y as they have a very dropped down rigging.

Another food for thought....do you notice how many of the Circle Y' tammy and jackie you see for sale - used?...i had a hard time buying a used bob marshall...everytime i found one, it was sold! They are both good saddles, just wondered if anyone else noticed this.

They are out there.  There's a whole facebook page dedicated to BMs.  And they do sell fast because they have a very long reputation.
