What are your thoughts on these saddles? Are they comfortable? I'm looking for a saddle that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I want to spend under a 1,000 and I seen new Ed Wright being sold as used.

I really like these saddles.  They sit really good and fit every horse I ever put them on.

Does Uncle Ed still endorse Shiloh Saddlery?? I know he used to:) I loved my Shiloh saddle. Very comfortable, great fit, and built very nice at an affordable price.

I think Shiloh endorses him-LOL- (j/k)- anyhow- there are many Shilohs with Ed's name and there are some by another maker. I prefer the Shilohs.

I love mine! I'm skipping my Reinsman and my CJ whenever I can in favor of my Ed saddle.

Is the saddle you are looking at a shiloh Ed Wright or an Ed Wright directly from Ed that won't have another saddle makers name on it? I have not ridden in the shiloh version but I had one from Ed directly. They are great saddles and really well made, especially since you buy it from Ed directly. A couple friends ordered saddles after riding in mine and they were only $1350 base price, the quality compares with saddles almost double that price. They are a great value

I tried one maybe 6 months ago at a race and loved it but I was only in the saddle maybe 10 or so mins and I wasn't sure if it was love or lust lol. I didn't buy it and when I checked into it again it had sold. The one I am looking at now I believe is Ed Wright direct not Shiloh but I will ask. I have four horses different sizes and it would be nice to have another saddle that would work on more then one of them.

I LOVE my 2!! Depends on the style you ride though. If you like to ride with your feet forward and more on your pockets - these saddles would probably not be something you like. Not saying that you cannot move your feet forward, but his saddles are center hung stirrups.

I bought both of mine used, and I think there is a little difference in how they ride. I haven't found a "maker" tag on either (other than Ed's name). How do you know which maker you have?

I have one that I bought directly from Ed and I find it very comfortable and a very good value. The only thing I don't like about it now is I need more pommel in my old age, to run in.

It's a straight Ed Wright and she's asking $1100 and its new. Just the wrong size for the seller. I'm going to go for it.

Have had five of Ed's saddles and they are awesome. Very comfortable for rider and horse and available in different width of trees. Ed has several different saddlemakers, one of which is Shiloh but all are made on his trees. They last great, good leather and hold their value. Great bang for your buck. I have riden in lots of different makes, Circle Y, Cactus, Double J, Martins, and I will take my Ed Wrights any day.

He makes a great saddle and they are a great value. I've had a couple and they all have been good. They look at all the saddles before they send them out. I think they are the best value out there.

I have one that I love, too. It is for sale only because it has a wide tree that I don't need on the horse I am riding now. Otherwise, it sits great and is a really nice quality saddle.
