You are not at fault in any way in this deal. You trusted this girl with your saddle. You trusted her to pay you. If the saddle didnt fit she would have know in the first week of having it, the saddle tree just dont get warped over a a few months, she would have know the saddle was wraped after a few rides. I hope that the saddle is still in the same shape as when you left it with her. Go pick it up and do not refund any money back to her. This is the money that is owed to you for losing a sale from someone else. So just go pick up your saddle and be done with this deal.
Just wonering how long did you give her to pay off the saddle? Just dont let anybody else do payments.
So, I talked to her. She's going to put it for sale and keep making payments until it sells. When it sells, I'll get the remaining balance.
She's the daughter of my farrier, and even HE said I was in the right. I have full confidence I'll get my money, or maybe free shoes/trims for a long time. Lol

If you got the confidence that she's going to pay the rest of the saddle to you then do what you feel is right. But if it was me I think I would be picking it up after what she was saying in the text to you. I dont take kindley to helping out someone like what you are doing and then they decide to act like this to me. No thank you.
But I can see that your a really sweet lady with a kind heart.

Take it back and re-sell it. At that point I would give a portion of her money back. If the saddle has been used and now shows wear I would give her back what is left after getting the amount of what you originally sold it for. Example you wanted $1200 and she has paid you $600. The saddle is now worth $900. and that is what you get so I would be giving her back $300.
