I found an older cutting saddle i want to try on my horse, but I don't really know much about them. Its a Calvin Allen, Terry Riddle model. I want to try it on my cow-bred colt, to be used for trails and all around riding. anyone know anything?

Love mine! It's my favorite saddle to just go work one in. I ride it on all of my Colts. Mine is probably a late 80's model if I was guessing.

Oh good. This one is supported to be early 80s. Guess I'll snatch it up :) thanks for your reply!

I bought an older model reined cowhorse Calvin Allen as well...my guys fight over who gets to use them. They are tough saddles and hold their value. Definitely grab up the cheap ones.

We have three or four Calvin's and I like all of them. They are made to last and fit your horse good.

As stated- they are good saddles- and his ex wife- Wendy Allen makes a sure nice one as well.

I have a older Bona Allen cutting saddle that I love. The most balanced saddle I ever rode in.

I have a 1984 Circley Y cutting saddle that is in super shape. I'm trying to find someone to help me value it.
