FYI:
All of your race tracks have 2yo races ... TB's use the earnings as 2yo's to qualify a horse to get into the big $$$ 3yo races ... watch how this works with the Kentucky Derby ...
QH, Paints and Appy's big earning year is as 2yo's ... this is where the big $$$ futurities are and to run in a derby as a 3yo you must have been paid up in the same Futurity to enter the Derby which again you have to pay nomination fees, run a trial race to get in the top 10 to run in the derby two weeks later .. ..
There are some million dollar qh races that are by invitation only ... so your top runners regardless of age can still earn some big bucks ...
Here is an amazing example of an AQHA horse maintaining his speed and being pulled out of the breeding shed to go run another high dollar race even after having proved his earning power the previous years ......
PROSPECT TO THE TOP .... scroll down and look at his earnings up to 5 years old

I didn't take offense. I just thought it was a valid observation about that u weren't aware that they ran so young. |

He isn't as big as the sales prep horses but he has beat them every time in speed works. I don't know how fast he is with other horses but we will find out on April 26th, LOL |

Location: NE Texas | What's are his times for his works? What's his name? I'd like to put him in my equibase stable. I wouldn't be concerned about his size at all....i've seen alot of small horses be successful; I would be more concerned with his knees being closed. Would I like to see him a little heavier/fatter, absolutely, but I know that sometimes these colts that are smaller and slighter made just don't look like those big ol mosters some trainers lead in the paddock. Good luck with him and keep us posted! |

Even though Utah's track is approved it is kind of a Bush track also. This colt has never had a clock put on him. Flying T Bugatti. Sire: Genuine Strawfly. Dam: My Native Silver ( I bred the mare also). |

Location: NE Texas | He should have to have an official work and/orschooling race and he'll have to get his gate card, which should also be an official work as well before they can put him in a race i'd think. I'll put him in my stable so I can watch for his entries and results. |

The official work is the "Bush" track part! It is always interesting with some horses on opening day with all trials! LOL |

Things are lots different in Utah than they are here. You can run em at the bush track all you want to but until they get an official work and get their gate card, they aren't eligible to run. You also have an official work in the last (I think) 60 days to put a horse in even if he has had 10 puts. Heck, even Ochoa has to have an official work to enter a race after having the winter off. Good luck with your colt and keep us posted. |

Location: California | To tell if a horse's knees are developed. Look at the legs straight on and the inside of the knee joints. In a baby thats knees are not fully developed, you will see the knees on the inside have a kind of roundness to them where as in a fully developed horse the knee joints on the inside are sharp and squared. Know what I mean? |
