Has anyone used/tried this? I eyeball it every time I go to TSC. I keep thinking it would be good to have for overnight/weekend shows in the summer just to get some extra water in their gut and anytime one needs an extra boost of fiber.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it!

Pretty sure there have been other posts about this. I haven't heard anything bad about them! Once I start hauling again I will have them in my trailer.

Great product! I posted awhile back on here about it! Been using it for trips and last summer when it was really hot to make sure everyone was getting enough water! Then during one of the cold snaps I had a mare acting colic like so fed her some of that and gave some banomine and she was fine! Usually have to call vet out for her! Mine love it! Recently had one on some meds they were refusing to take so I put a little dry in his feed and he ate everything!

My 3 horses absolutely love it. Will use when and if I ever get back to hauling. I use it once a day and mix in their evening feed. I think it calls for a block per horse but the way I feed it I use half for 3 horses and mix with their feed. That is just the way I use it, not quite as expensive that way.

I use it when hauling.  My good mare Hoovers it down.  The others pick at it but I'm sure in time they'll eat it up too.  Its great for hot days plus the bonus is it takes up such a small amount of room in the trailer.

Saves room. That's another plus of why I thought about it as good for traveling, not to mention the water retention aspects.

And that's another reason I was looking at it, when one is acting off or even has the beginnings of loose stools or something. A way to get some extra fiber AND water in them.

Sounds like I need to try this stuff.....

Thanks!

I took my young horse to a clinic and it was his first time stalled overnight away from home. I didn't use hydration hay (simply forgot it was even available), but I had bought some sample packets of horse quencher. Overnight he may have drank half a bucket. I remembered I had the packets in my trailer. I got fresh water and added a packet of root beer flavored and he slurped down his entire bucket of water with his breakfast. Just another option to consider. I ended up giving him a packet each day and he enjoyed the flavors it appears. (BTW I am not affiliated with them in any way- I just like the prduct and will be ordering more).

Used it at Nebraska State rodeo finals this year.. It was 110 degrees the second week in September and we had two rodeo performances on one day. I couldn't keep enough water in front of her, so I also used this and Restore by Formula 707. My horse is somewhat picky and had no problems with her eating this..I have and will carry it in my trailer!

I wonder what the difference in the hydration hay and simply soaking some alfalfa cubes is. Both gets water and fiber into them.

 Price lol

ETA: I think the hydration hay does soak up more water, but I'd have to test it (I have both but I normally use the cubes). Mine was not very impressed with the hydration hay, but I only gave it to him once.
